A.J. came here shortly after his graduation from Cal-Tec, Calcutta Technical Institute. As the top student in his graduating class of 7 million, he was accepted for graduate study in the United States. A.J. enrolled at Springfield Heights Institute of Technology, under the tutelage of the brilliant Professor John Frink. Nine glorious years later he completed his Ph.D. thesis; 200,000 precisely ordered punch-cards comprising the world's first tic-tac-toe program. Only the top human players could beat it. He did not feel right leaving without playing off his student loans, so he took a job at the Kwik-E-Mart. When A.J.'s debts were wiped clean, he was all set to go. By then he had made so many friends here, including the members of Ugly Elephant, who he met while standing behind the fence at Zilker park listening to Stevie Wonder perform at ACL Fest 2011; that he couldn't possibly leave without being considered AWOL.
